Removing Doubt Hypnosis & The Law of Attraction

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010

DLScott CH.t. / CDP / AASD

The Law of Attraction is at work all the time. Whenever we think something, or feel something, the Law of Attraction is at work, arranging and uncovering everything that needs to happen to manifest your desire.

What exactly is the Law of Attention? Is it some magical power that you can use to create anything in your life, to get anything that you want? Or is it a basic rule of physics that has been proving over and over again, vibrations attract vibrations.

Everything that exists is made up of atoms, the things that you call matter, and the things that you call energy are both made up of atoms. The atoms that make everything up vibrate with a specific frequency, based on the movement of protons, and electrons around a nucleus.  Our thoughts and our feelings are measurable bits of electro – chemical energy. This means that our thoughts and feelings have specific measurable vibratory patterns, and since the rule of physics is that vibrations attract similar vibrations, then our thoughts and feelings have to attract other similar vibrational patterns.

With that said, what does it mean for you? Does it mean that whatever happens to you or is experienced by you was created by you? Well the answer is yes and no. We did not physically create the events and experiences that we manifest into our lives, but we did attract them through our thoughts and feelings.

Many of my clients and friends will point out that they did not attract the traffic jam that made them late for work, they did not create the horrible relationship that just broke up, they did not cause the loss of their job, and while that may be true. They did attract the vibrational pattern of these events simply by focusing on corresponding negative or positive thoughts and feelings. Think about that. When you get out of bed in the morning, you stub your toe, or you wake up frantic because the alarm didn’t go off, and you are late, and soon things keep getting worse, you spill coffee on your clean shirt, you cut yourself shaving, you run into a traffic jam. Your Law of Attraction is working perfectly. You are focused on negative thoughts and feelings, and the Law is simply responding by arranging and or uncovering events that will allow you to continue to feel and experience your focus of attention. The Law does not discriminate; it simply does its job.

What you need to do is a simple three step process to help you switch your attention to something more positive, and thus attract something more positive in your life.

Step One: Deliberate Manifestation: Decide what you want to experience. Do you want to experience peace, calmness, or joy? Then focus on those things. It is not always easy, when you stub your toe, or you are late to work, or your boss is generally disagreeable, then it will take practice to switch your focus, but believe me when you put this step into place, you will very swiftly start to notice that things begin to show up, that will make your day more pleasurable, and more joy filled.

Foundations Hypnosis Seattle – Bellevue teaches simple and basics skills that will help you to start to identify what it is you do want to experience, and how to express these desires in a powerful and positive way.

Step Two: Focus on your desire: Once you have identified what it is that you really want to experience, you will need to begin to focus your attention on that desire. Sounds simple, but just because something is simple, does not mean that it is easy to do.

Foundations Hypnosis Seattle – Bellevue will teach you how to create and use affirmations that work, and get results. When you tell yourself “I am thin and slender, I have a wonderful relationship that is nurturing and kind”, and yet you feel resistance and negativity because  mind automatically tells you, “that is not true, I am still overweight, or I am still in a bad relationship, etc,” you will need to remind yourself that life is a journey, and that we are always experiencing changes. Focusing on the steps, observing the small changes that occur, will allow you to build up your positive belief. Keeping a daily gratitude journal or a daily success journal are two easy and effective ways of helping you to change from a negative focus to a positive focus.

Step Three: Release and Let Go: The third step is often the most overlooked step, and yet it is one of the most important. I have seen people declare what they want, I have seen them focus on what they want, and then they let doubts creep in. “I can’t lose weight, I have always been fat, or everyone in my family is overweight, or I never meet the right person to be in a good relationship”.  These are simply excuses that our minds create, out of old programming,  to keep us stuck in familiar patterns and behaviors.

Most of what clients come to see me about started with feelings of low self worth and esteem, and feelings of being unworthy. When you have done steps 1 and 2 of The Deliberate Law of Attraction, you will find that the results may be very slow, or will not come at all if you don’t remove feelings of doubt and negative beliefs.

Foundations Hypnosis North Seattle, helps the clients remove old messages and images that cause us to have self doubt, and a lack of confidence, by using a technique called Emotional Release Therapy, and through affirmative messages of self forgiveness while in a hypnotic trance.

If you want to experience the power of deliberate attraction, then CALL  Foundations Hypnosis Seattle ~ Bellevue NOW (206) 417-4900.

North Seattle Counseling Services

DLScott CH.t. / CDP / AASD

What makes Foundations Hypnosis and Counseling Services different than other therapies?  It is a fair question and one that I would hope that people are asking of any Therapist, Counselor, or Hypnotherapist, before they decide to enlist their services as a provided. Along with the fact that many people are concerned about location, (Foundations is located in the north end of Seattle, near Northgate, Haller Lake, Maple Leaf, Mountlake, and Lake City), and people are also concerned with the style and type of therapy that their Therapist or Hypnotherapist is involved in. At Foundations North Seattle Counseling Services, you will be given both the best in Hypnotherapy, and in cutting edge Chemical Dependency Counseling techniques.

As those of you who have experienced Foundations North Seattle Counseling know, this therapy involves a technique called Emotional Release Therapy.  This technique relies upon the ability of the therapist to  get the conscious portion of the mind to drop down into the deepest level of alpha brain wave frequency, (between 8 and 14 cycles per second), in a very quick fashion.  By doing this your subconscious mind will start cleaning up the effects of stress on body cells and tissues, and also help a person unattach from traumatic memories and images that have been creating problems in the area of self worth, self esteem, addictions, phobias, anxieties, prolonged stress effects, (such as though experienced with PTSD), weight retention issues, and chronic pain issues.

While it is true that you don’t have to know specific issues and images that are attached to those stress related effects, some clients feel safer and more empowered when they have specifics to work with, so it is and can be helpful to use some regression work such as age regression, and even past life regression to help a client work on a cognitive level making the Emotional Release Therapy even more effective.

Many clients come to Foundations North Seattle Counseling Services wanting to make sense of questions that they have surrounding spiritual matters.  As mentioned in my last blog, utilizing Hypnosis allows me to help a client safely and effectively explore those themes and ideas in their lives. It also allows a client to explore these ideas while looking at, and working on a  bigger picture of mental, emotional, and physical issues and ideas.

If you feel that this type of counseling is right for you, then CALL NOW!!!!! (206)417-4900. Foundations Hypnosis Seattle ~ Lynnwood ~ Everett is located just minutes off of I-5, about fifteen minutes from Downtown Seattle.

The Ego, Spirituality, and Regression

Thursday, November 11th, 2010

DLScott CH.t. / CDP / AASD

I have recently been reading the book “The Four Insights” by Alberto Villoldo PHD.  In the book there are described three major roles that the EGO plays, The Victim, The Perpetrator, and The Savior. Each of these roles is designed to allow the EGO to be the star of your show, to be the center of your universe. As I mentioned in my last article, the biggest fear of the EGO is total annihilation. In other words when you die, it is the EGO that will die, you, the real you will continue on to the next step in your spiritual journey. The feelings, thoughts, emotions, and body that made up this present incarnation will cease to exist. The brain will stop functioning, the heart will stop beating, and eventually your physical body will turn to dust. This is what the EGO fears, and it is these fears, that cause us such great stress, and hardships.

When a client comes to me, and describes issues that include such things as stress relief, smoking cessation, weight loss, test anxiety, and pain management control, I am able to address these concerns by looking at the entire package. This includes the mental aspect, the emotional aspect, the physical aspect, and the spiritual aspect of counseling.

Most of the time spirituality is ignored when it comes to mental health therapy or chemical dependency therapy. In fact the last agency that I worked in had mandated that we could not address the idea of spirituality in anyway, (although 12 step programs have a rather large component of spirituality attached to them). This meant that a major portion of their lives was being ignored.

Now that my practice is centered more on my role as a hypnotherapist, I am able to directly address more spiritual questions, if that is what the client wants, and help the client explore that side of their life.

As I have stated in the past, you are not your thoughts, you are not your feelings, and you are not your body. I teach dynamic methods to let go attachments to thoughts, feelings, and the body. Sometimes it is necessary to have a conscious memory of what some of the ideas and beliefs are. Although using Emotional Release Therapy does not require that a client remember all of the details of a particular incident, they do need to embrace the fact that there are negative emotions, and feelings attached to ideas and memories from the past, and held in the deeper areas of the subconscious. Once the technique of Emotional Release Therapy has been applied, regression therapy will allow a client to recall incidences that they have consciously forgotten, and they can recall those incidences without the traumatic emotion once attached to them.

Many of my clients embrace the idea of past life regression, some do not. Neither belief system is required to access the power of Emotional Release Therapy, but then neither belief system will diminish the impact that this powerful tool has on the client.

Sometimes it is not necessary to uncover forgotten memories from childhood. My work with Emotional Release Therapy can help a client release the feelings attached to those thoughts and images, but often times just the uncovering of those memories helps the client move beyond fears, phobias, and anxieties that have been keeping them stuck.  Once the memory is uncovered it is easier to forgive the event, or use emotional release therapy to help forgive the event.

As a final note, it has been researched by the Annals of Epidemiology that people who regularly attend religious services tend to be healthier than people who don’t. In fact it has been shown that people who attend weekly church services of some type have a lower risk of health issues than those who have never set foot inside of a church.

If you are ready to explore the entire spectrum of your life, the mental, the emotional, physical, and spiritual, then CALL NOW!!! (206) 417-4900, Foundations Hypnosis Seattle is located in the North Seattle, near Shoreline ~ Lynnwood, just a couple of minutes from the freeway.

Smoking Cessation Medications and Hypnosis in Unison

DLScott CH.t. / CDP / AASD

Let’s face it, a lot of people are afraid of spending money, and a lot of people want to know that they are going to get an effective safe product when they do decide that it is time to spend their money.

Smoking cessation programs are no exception. There are all kinds of methods, methods such as smoking cessation medication, hypnosis therapy, and smoking cessation support programs on the market; some of them are backed by claims of 100% guarantee that you will become a non-smoker easily and effortlessly. I have had friends who swear that the nicotine patch, allowed them to stop smoking, I have had friends who swear that keeping nicotine gum on them during their quit smoking efforts was what caused them to quit smoking. As a smoking cessation therapist, chemical dependency counselor and clinical hypnotherapist all of my clients have assured me that it was the smoking cessation program that caused them to quit smoking.

I am here to tell you that that thing that made them quit smoking was their own decision to be a non-smoker. If quitting smoker was easy and effortless, then no one would still be smoking. It is expensive, it is extremely bad for your health, it is social unacceptable in many circles, it smells bad, and oh yeah did I mention that it is extremely expensive. Now a day’s most cigarettes cost about $8.00 per pack, and when you smoke a pack a day, that averages out to $248.00 per month.

When someone comes to Foundations Hypnosis Seattle ~ Lynnwood for Smoking Cessation, they are given several tools and techniques that will allow them to address the various concerns and issues of the quitting process.  Foundations hypnotherapy smoking cessation provides hypnosis to deal with stress, cravings, and behaviors. They are given a safe and effective procedure to cut down on the amount of nicotine going into their system during the quitting process, and they are provided with proven cognitive behavioral techniques to help them get through any lingering thoughts of using during their four week process.

I explain that they can use any medications that they feel comfortable with, but that in actuality, these tools are not necessary, and could possible casue problems with the minds natural balance. The step down process provides the same effects as nicotine patches, and it does so without having to have more nicotine pumped into your system as a replacement. The hypnosis and self hypnotic techniques provide plenty of tools to reduce cravings, which are usually brought about by stress. I also explain that drugs such as Zyban, and Chantix, can cause have been known to produce side effects which might include hostility, agitation, depressed mood, suicidal thoughts, dry mouth, insomnia, change in appetite, and headaches.  (None of these side effects have ever been noticed when you use hypnosis).
What you will receive when you attend Foundations hypnotherapy smoking cessation are 4 sessions of deep hypnotic relaxation, a specially designed booklet that will help you track your progress with each step of the program, a specially designed CD for daily use, (to enhance the weekly sessions), self hypnosis training that will allow you to deal with stress in your daily life. All of this is provided for a low fee of $225.00, that is less than the cost of one months worth of smoking.

Affordable Stress Relief Therapy

Tuesday, November 9th, 2010

DLScott CH.t. / CDP / AASD

Everywhere that I turn these days, I hear about more and more people facing threats and challenges that are causing an increased amount of stress, people are dealing with stress from job loss, violence, credit fraud, illnesses, and lack of health care. Just this morning I was reading a story about a young boy who was allegedly beaten death by four other teenagers at a party he had attend, and he had not even known his attackers before they allegedly killed him. The stress levels in our culture are rising on a daily basis.

I had originally gotten into the field of Hypnosisand Hypnotherapy because of the effects of stress on body.  I was working on an oncology unit and had several discussions with the Oncology Drs.  About the fact that you can give a cancer patient all of the radiation treatment, all of the chemotherapy treatment necessary, but nothing is going to have any true impact as long as you don’t deal with the effects of stress and attitude occurring with the patient.

I decided that I wanted to learn how to help people deal with the effects of their stress and attitude, and what I found out was that they are basically two categories of stress. The first category is short term stress. Now short term stress is a necessary, it helps you respond to actual danger, and helps you to deal with challenges that appear in your life.

In the past,  short term stress served a very useful purpose as our ancient ancestors were often in danger from predators and other life threatening factors in their environment. The effects of the flight or fight response, activited by short term stress, would often mean the difference between life and death.

The second type of stress, Long term stress, does not serve such a nobel purpose. You see the brain does not know the difference between a real or imagined event, and in these very trying times we have to deal with such things as threats in the form of job challenges, relationship challenges, money challenges, violence and bigotry. These threats cause the same fight or flight response to occur in our system, but instead of the effects of the stress response being dissipated once the threat is over, the effects  often time linger on, and our bodies have to deal with the effects on a long term basis.

These effects manifest in five basic ways:
1. Muscles tense up
2. Blood pressure rises
3. Toxins & chemicals are released into the body
4. Our bodies  ability to deal with or eliminate toxins, is lessened, (one primary culprit is Cortisol, also known  as the stress hormone)
5. Our immune system response is dampened, thus leading to increase in disease and ill health

What is the solution to these effects? One of the best solutions is to learn effective methods of self hypnosis, and / or meditation.  When you attend hypnotic sessions at Foundations Hypnosis North ~ Seattle ~ Everett, you will be put into a series of very relaxing hypnotic inductions, during which you will be exposed to a special technique called Emotional Release Therapy. This technique will allow you to gently release the effects of stress on the cells of the body, while it helps you to flush out toxins and excess chemicals easily and effortlessly.  While all of this is happening you will be taught basic techniques of self hypnosis that will allow you to deal with stress that will arise in your future on a daily basis.

Foundations Hypnosis guarantees affordable prices due to the low overhead of owning my own studio where the work is actually done. The therapy is accomplished in as little as four to five sessions, with special low fee maintenance sessions available to you.

DLScott CH.t. / CDP / CDP

I would like to start this blog with some good news, the good news is that you are a perfect, complete, and whole human being. We see examples of humanities goodness everywhere, but the bad news is that, through the media we are taught to focus on the idea that we are not good enough,  that we are flawed creatures, violent and warlike, unworthy of the good that life has to offer. Because of this we carry shame and guilt around with us all of the time.

We have heard this message from the media, in school, in books, and from our friends and relatives.  How many times have your parents, partners, or spouse, reminded you of your mistakes, instead of reminding you of your successes and the good things that you do. Due to this perceived guilt or shame, most people are looking for the answers outside of themselves. We are looking for answers in alcohol, drugs, obsessive compulsive behaviors, money, possessions, and relationships. The list could go on and on, but I think you get the picture.

When client’s come in to my office, with issues of being unable to quit smoking, or wanting to loose weight, or they are dealing with low self worth, having a spiritual crisis, trying to eliminate or manage issues of anger, anxiety, phobias, emotional mental or physical pain, invariable underlying feelings of guilt about something they believe they have done, or feelings of shame over some perceived wrong they have committed, or endured in their past are at the become  addicted cause of thier issues.  They have tried many methods of erasing this guilt or shame, and in th process they have  to some substance or behavior, they are experiencing pain, either emotional physical or mental, and they are experiencing continued issues in their relationships, jobs, financial situation, or are just stuck in depression, and anger.
