Hypnosis and Dentistry in North Seattle ~ Shoreline

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

DLScott CH.t. / AASD / CDP

When you think about going to see a Dentist, what is the first thing that pops into your mind?

While modern dentistry has taken a lot of the discomfort and pain out of the actual dental session, the majority of people associate a visit to the dentist with some kind of pain discomfort, or anxiety.

Does any of this sound familiar to you:

Being embarrassed about the way I’ve taken care of my teeth, will the dentist berate me, lecture me, or judge me because of my lack of oral care?

Gagging or being unable to control your gag reflex. How many of us, have tried to have the x-rays done at a dentist office, and have had trouble with the little film cards placed near the back of our throats.

The sound of the drill, just the sound of the drill and smell of the heat from the drill on our teeth, often make some patients sick to the stomach or faint.

Choking, being afraid that you won’t be able to breathe or get any air, or of not be able to swallow.

Numbness, the idea or feeling of numbness can be terrifying and make some people think that they will not be able to breathe, or perhaps you have had an experience where the dentist has not been able to get you numb in the past and they went right ahead and worked on you anyway, then you stay away from the dentist because you are afraid it will happen again.

The Cost, “Are you kidding, it cost a lot of money to go to a dentist, I can’t afford that”.

These are just some of the reasons that people fear dental visits, but now you can do something about it.

One of the most effective options is Hypnosis. Hypnosis, from a qualified practitioner, can and does alleviate or eliminate these fears and anxieties for you.  From the issue of bruxism, also known as TMJ, to the issue of relaxation and pain management, Hypnosis will provide with the skills and tools to having a comfortable and enjoyable visit to the Dentist.

The Power of Thoughts

DLScott CH.t. / CDP / AASD

No matter how you approach it, or what the issue is that we are talking about, we are actually dealing with thoughts, and thoughts can be changed.

How true this is.  When we want to change a condition in our lives, whether that be smoking, low self worth or low self esteem, weight issues, job issues, poor relationships, panic and anxiety issues, money issues, etc. we first need to change our thoughts about the condition.

Think about that, when you have an issue or a problem, what do you think about the most? Are you thinking about the solution to the problem, or are you thinking about the problem itself.

Over the last several days I have found myself thinking about all of the issues and problems that are going on in our country due to violence, anger, retaliation, and fear. What I have recognized, (again), is that this just creates more of an awareness and focus on what I don’t want instead of on what I do want. It does not matter whether you side with the Democratic Party or the Republican Party; the solution is to start focusing on solutions instead of the problems.

This same rule applies with all issues in our life.  We need to retrain ourselves to focus on what we want instead of what we don’t want. One of the best ways to do this is by using the power of your mind and heart to direct and master the images and messages contained within your subconscious brain.

We never engage in any behavior or activity unless we perceive that it is granting us some kind of benefit. What benefit do you think that you are getting from your behavior, i.e. how do you believe that you are benefitting from smoking, drinking, anger, playing the victim, etc.?

You can uncover these benefits, release the need for them, and then create new behaviors by using Hypnosis, and specifically Foundations Hypnosis Emotional Release Therapy.

Why not give it try, call the office, (206) 417-4900, or fill out an assessment located on this website.

Hypnosis A Powerful Tool in Complementary Cancer Care

Hypnosis a Powerful Tool in Complementary Cancer Care

By, Jack Bleeker

February 9, 2010

(Hi, I usually write these blogs myself, but I was asked to post this article re: Hypnosis, and Cancer Care. Since I originally became certified in Hypnosis to help patients and families deal with the effects of cancer, I am more than happy and proud to present the following information. I am also providing a link to  Mesothelioma.com   so you can learn more about this deadly form of cancer ).

Complementary therapies, while not given the attention that more traditional cancer therapies may receive, are perhaps equally important while undergoing treatment for certain types of cancer. Patients diagnosed with difficult to treat malignancies will often use these types of therapies in conjunction with traditional surgical, chemotherapeutic, or radiology techniques to form a more comprehensive and effective treatment regimen. Among the most important and effective alternative therapies utilized by those diagnosed with cancer is hypnotherapy.

Hypnotherapy has been used for many years in clinical settings. Hypnotherapy’s role in cancer management however, is relatively new and indications are that its utilization has not been fully maximized yet. Effective cancer treatment often depends on the patient’s ability to not only defeat the cancer through treatments but also to maintain their health and mental spirit throughout the painful side effects of cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation.

Often, the symptoms and effects of the cancer itself on the body are negligible compared to the pain and other side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. This is where acupuncture has been said to be most effective. Cancers such as mesothelioma, which are often unable to be removed by surgical means, are often treated with some combination of chemotherapy and radiation. While these potent therapies can be effective in eliminating some of the tumor mass and growth, they also profoundly affect the health of the surrounding tissue. Symptoms of these effects including fever, nausea, and general pain have been dramatically reduced through the utilization of hypnosis. Patients, who are able to withstand these symptoms and recover quickly, will often be able to be more aggressively treated, increasing the efficacy of the treatment regimen as a whole. Some specific hypnotherapy techniques utilized in pain management for mesothelioma cancer patients, include altering the neurophysical configuration of pain, control of anticipatory anxiety, and targeted imagery.

Hypnotherapy techniques may not be appropriate for all patient’s pain and individual symptoms but it’s certainly worth exploring as it can do very little harm in experimenting with integrative therapies. The goal with alternative therapies, as with traditional therapies, is always to increase the effectiveness of treatment as a whole. If hypnotherapy can assist in any way in helping patients recover or manage symptoms of chemotherapy or radiation, then it will have contributed to the treatment regimens overall efficacy and should certainly be utilized.

How to Make the Law of Attraction Work for You

The Missing Piece to Creating the Life You Have Always Wanted

How to Make the Law of Attraction

Work for You

DLScott CH.t / CDP / AASD

How many times have you heard people tell you that all you need to do to attract things into your life or change obsessive / compulsive / addictive behaviors is to think positive thoughts, visualize the outcome, and it will be yours?

As I mentioned in the Three Laws of Sobriety, there is a big piece of information left out of the advice.  The answer is HYPNOSIS!!!!!

From the moment you are born, your five senses have been recording information and data from the outside world and then storing it into the part of your brain that most people generally refer to as the subconscious.  These bits of information have been recorded and agreed to, as the program that runs our personal version of life.  Think about it.  As you grew up you were taught the meanings of words such as daddy, mommy, food, good, bad, etc. The meanings of these words vary from person to person based on the source of the information, but the concepts are usually very similar.

Our lives have been guided by many, many sources: the adults in our lives, our care givers, school, teachers, religious leaders, the media and anyone else who was able to get our attention. These adults and authority figures were simply passing on the meanings and agreements that had been passed on to them. In many cases the meanings and the agreements were put in place to make sure that we learned and accepted our place in society.

This is a good thing and a bad thing. We learned great lessons, such as it is wrong to kill, lie, cheat, or steal, unless there is a higher purpose such as protecting ourselves in battle, or maybe telling a white lie to avoid hurting someone’s feelings, or….. well you get the idea.

The problem is that we are raised / trained in the same way that we

train our pets and livestock. We are taught how to act and how to perform, based on assumptions and ideas that may not always be true.  By the time we become teenagers we have been instilled with rules and laws that are so ingrained, so internalized, that we don’t even bother to question them, and if we break even one of those rules, we punish ourselves with negative self talk, negative self image, and such huge amounts of guilt and shame that we come to believe that we are not good enough, we are not worthy of anything good in our lives.

Now you are told that all you have to do is think of what you want, visualize the outcome; turn on the positive images, and the items that you think of have to come to you.   IT IS THE LAW OF THE UNIVERSE!!!!

While that is true, we do create our lives according to what we focus our attention on, we have to recognize just what it is that we are focusing our attention on.

The moments that we spend focused on our deliberate wants and desires are far outweighed by the thousands and thousands of random, negative images, beliefs, and agreements that are constantly running in the background.

I mentioned in an earlier article that trying to override old thoughts and old agreements with new, positive thoughts and agreements is a lot like trying to wax your car without first washing away the dirt and grime that has built up over time.

You need to take the step that is usually left out when you are being told about The Law of Attraction, aka, The Law of Attention. You must first clean up the dirt and the grime before putting down the new coat of wax.

This does not need to take months and years of slow and laborious talk therapy. It can be accomplished quickly and efficiently, utilizing the power of Hypnosis, the power of altered states of consciousness.

With the use of Foundations Hypnosis Seattle ~ Bellevue’s Emotional Release Therapy, you are taught how to lower the vibrational pattern of your brain waves, and quickly weed out unwanted and deeply buried beliefs and agreements.  Once you have removed the emotional attachments to these unwanted, negative beliefs and thoughts, there is nothing that will stand in the way of you creating and living the life of your dreams.

Make your move!!! Fill out one of the easy and convenient assessments on this website, or call (206) 417-4900 to set up an appointment to start living the life you have always dreamed of.

The Three Levels of Brain Function

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

Personal Energy Mastery works under the principle that the mind is divided into three distinct parts:

1) The Medulla or reactive / instinctual mind which is in charge of our instincts, our hormonal control, and basic drives such as hunger, reproductive drives, temperature control, respiration and heart rate.

2) The Sub cortical area deals with and stores our emotions / memories / triggers. This is where we store 1000(s) & 1000(s) of images of events and memories that continual play as though on a recorded loop, and help sustain our accepted beliefs and agreements.

3) The Cortex area deals with Self –awareness in this area we can problem solve by being aware of our thoughts and beliefs. With this portion of the mind we can choose appropriate behavior based on our self awareness, or self reflection. This is the area of brain that rarely gets used, that we let lay dormant.

Each of these brain levels is very important to our survival in the world, and each is activated by various stimuli. The Medulla or instinctual mind, which is always working to control our basic needs, breathing, pulse rate, urges, etc., can activated by our flight or fight response.

The Sub cortical area is constantly running, it is constantly creating our outside experience via our focus of attention, and unless, and until, we consciously take control of our focus of attention, we tend to repeat the same patterns over and over again. Notice how we will end up in the same type of relationship, the same type of jobs, the same situations / life circumstances. Some of the details may be different, but the energy is the same. This occurs because of the vibrational pattern of emotions that are tied into our prevalent images stored in this area of our brains.  The word “emotion” can be defined as “energy in motion”.  Emotions are very strong feelings such as Anger, Joy, Elation, or Fear. These emotions cause physical changes in the body. The effects can be either positive or negative dependent upon the type of emotion and the intensity of the emotion.

Sometimes we are unaware of our emotions, and how they are affecting our body, but they affect us in many ways such as tension, and stress. It has been reported that the biggest threat to our health is our stress levels. Stress affects us in five specific and measurable ways:

1)    Increases our heart rate

2)    Causes tension in the muscles and joints of our body

3)    Increases Toxins in the body

4)    Decreases our ability to flush out those toxins

5)    Lowers the body’s immune response

The Cortex is that area of the brain where our intellect is seated. It is the area where we have pure thought without attachment to emotion. When we feel centered and clear, it is this area of the brain that allows us to focus on what we want, instead of focusing on what we don’t want.

It has just been in recent years, scientists have discovered that the heart has its own independent nervous system—a complex system referred to as “the brain in the heart. This system receives and relays information back to the brain in the head, creating a two-way communication between heart and brain, by which the heart interacts with the nervous system, and the three different levels of brain functions. (See illustration on previous page).

When you learn how to meditate using the Foundations Hypnosis Personal Energy Mastery System, you will be able to effectively communicate with the three levels of the brain function that will help you achieve amazing things in your life.

When we are upset, panicked, or anxious, it becomes hard to think clearly. Making a wise choice is very hard for everyone when they are emotional upset. BUT what if you could learn to control your e-motions (energy in motions, i.e. (personal energy mastery), and begin to feel confident and secure?

With Foundations Hypnosis Personal Energy Mastery you will learn how to connect with the heart of mind, and quickly release old agreements and beliefs while incorporating new beliefs, new agreements, and new desires into your life.

The basis of Foundations Hypnosis (Personal Energy Mastery) Seattle ~ Bellevue is a technique called Emotional Release Therapy. With this technique you will be guided through a quick process that allows you to remove old and unwanted emotions that are tied into beliefs and agreements, so that you can start adopting new POWERFUL & POSITIVE beliefs and agreements that will help you move ahead in life.

Through this program you will learn

            1) Basic Meditation

            2) Dynamic Mediation

            3) How the brain works

            4) How to deal with change

            5) Detaching from old emotions based on old beliefs and agreements

            6) Letting go of the Ego

            7) Ridding yourself of unwanted habits and compulsive behaviors, (such as

drugs, cigarettes, alcohol, and food addictions.

            8) Incorporating new life beliefs

            9) Awareness of self

            10) Forgiveness

An easy way of conceptualizing this is to think of waxing your car.  If you go out and put down a coat of wax, without first removing the old dirt and grime, that old dirt and grime will quickly show through and render the new wax job useless.

You can take complete control of your life; stop living a life of pain and angst, and start living the life you have always wanted. Don’t delay take Foundation’s easy on line assessment, or call (206) 417-4900 and set up an appointment.

A Will Power Approach, or A Holistic Approach

Friday, February 5th, 2010

DLScott CH.t / CDP

A client recently called me to find out if Hypnosis would be a good tool to use when someone is dealing with anxiety, and phobias.

My first response is that Hypnosis is a good tool to use when dealing with any form of fear or phobia that is blocking you, but I also went on to add, that I hesitate in making it a one shot deal, one induction fits all type of approach.

The most important thing to remember when you are dealing with phobias or mental blockages is to figure out what the benefits of the phobias or mental blockage are.  Think about that, if you have a fear of bees and you are allergic to bees, then your phobia has a clear benefit, it keeps you away from bees. If you are blocking yourself from performing some dangerous activity, or some perceived dangerous activity than you may not want to get rid of the blockage, at least not all together. You may want to simply modify the behavior or the blockage, or at least find out how to continue reaping the same benefit(s) without the consequences.

Think about that, Hypnosis is not a matter of will power; it is a way of using the same power of the mind that created the behavior or addiction, to easily and safely create a new option a new behavior that is healthy, beneficial, and positive for you and those around you.  Once you are able to let go of the old behavior, and gain the same benefits in another way, then the old behavior seems to melt away almost without effort.

With Foundations Hypnosis Seattle ~ Bellevue, the first step is always in determining just what is the benefit of the behavior you are seeking to get rid of. I don’t care whether you consider that behavior an addiction, a phobia, or a compulsive behavior.

1)      Helping the client to determine what it is they do want, as opposed to what they don’t want.

2)      Detachment from the emotional & reactive parts of the brain, otherwise known as the sub-cortical and Medulla oblongata areas of the brain, that have kept you stuck in the problem. (Like Albert Einstein said, “you can’t solve the problem at the level of the problem).

3)      Learning and practicing very effective and simply methods of bringing balance to the body, and the brain, allowing you to take control of random and involuntary thoughts and emotions stored in the sub cortical areas of the brain.

4)      Using various levels of the trance state to allow the client to incorporate new images, and thoughts to help create the new behavior that they want to obtain.

Hypnosis is one of the most power tools for change. If you are seeking to change, enhance, create the life of your dreams, or just bring more joy into your life, then don’t delay. Take one of the convenient on line assessments, and find out more about how you can deliberately manifest your future.

Accepting Our Greater Good

Monday, January 25th, 2010

DLScott CH.t / CDP / AASD

When you wake up in the morning do greet the day with smiles and excitement, or do your often feel like pulling the blankets up over your head, and hiding out from the world? Are you experiencing happiness, joy, and abundance, or are you dodging the boss, creditors, or one bad relationship after another? Are you accepting all the good that is yours to command, or are you simply trying to survive another day?

One of the hardest things to accept in life is that we are all 100% responsible for every single event in our life.  Every event, good, bad, or indifferent, shows up in our lives because of our focus of attention. Now before you hit the exit key, let me explain something here. The Law of Attraction works whether we are aware of it or not. Now you may say that I would not have attracted the accident, or the illness, or the debt, and in a way you are correct. You would not have deliberately attracted those things into your life, but given the fact that whatever we put our attention on, what we focus on, is what shows up for us, it is impossible to say that the Law works sometimes and not others.

By utilizing the power of your mind, through Hypnosis, and NLP, you can choose to change your thinking, you can choose to change your focus of attention, and you can choose new thoughts, and new images to guide your life experiences.

You start the process by releasing old beliefs, old resentments, and old angers through the power of Emotional Release Therapy, a unique technique that you will experience with each session of Foundations Hypnosis Seattle ~ Bellevue. Along with the power of Emotional Release Therapy, you will be guided through a series of hypnotic inductions, skills, and tools that will allow you to create new thoughts, new emotional reactions, and new focus in your life. When you start doing this, you will be amazed at how quickly the old behaviors, the old beliefs, and habits, such as addictions, fears, phobias, relationship issues, and money issues just begin to fade away, and a whole new life begins to emerge.

Don’t delay; take charge of your thinking and your life today. Take one of the online surveys located on this website, and see about setting up an appointment to start manifesting the life you have always dreamed of.

Welcome to Foundations 2010

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Welcome to Foundations 2010
DLScott CtHA / CDP

At a recent meeting of the National Guild of Hypnotherapist, I gave a lecture on one of my favorite subjects; The Three Laws of Sobriety.

I had been hesitating in giving this lecture because I was just unsure of what I wanted to really talk about. I mean here I was being asked to present a topic to friends and colleagues about a subject that we all know well, and that of course is Hypnosis.

I have to tell you, I think I learned more from the lecture than anyone in the audience.

What I believed is that I had to talk about a specific technique, a specific tool or exercise that I use with my clients. What I discovered is that my specific technique is my experience and personal philosophy.

I have been in the field for about twenty years at this point in my career. I have clients who come to me for a variety of reasons, smoking cessation, drug addiction, self worth & self esteem, panic & anxiety, and sleeping issues. When I first learned the art of hypnosis, I was trained in specific inductions, and techniques, that could help a client refocus or reprogram their minds. What I have discovered over the years, is that clients don’t have to reprogram their minds, they simply need to be reminded to refocus their minds.

Each client that walks through the door is a perfect, whole, and complete human being, with talents, strengths, fears, passions, and abilities to create anything they desire. Each client has been able to create the life that they are living, sometimes they are not happy with their creation, and that is where hypnosis comes into play.

There is no magic bullet that is going to solve your problems, but there is this incredibly powerful organ called the brain that contains all the power and ability to draw to you whatever you want. You just have to follow a couple of simple rules.

1) Learn to direct your thoughts. As I tell all of my clients, you are not your thoughts, you are not your emotions, and you are not your body. You are the energy, the consciousness behind the thoughts; you are the consciousness behind the emotions, and the body. For years have been told “I think, therefore I am.” WRONG!!!!! You think because you have been given a brain that is designed to think, but you, the true essence of you, are the director and creator of your life and your life is based upon those thousands and thousands of thoughts. I teach clients how to accept and make peace with all of those random thoughts, and then to start utilizing those thoughts to attract the type of life you have always dreamed of.
2) Let go of the guilt and shame of the past. We always do our best at any given moment. Just because you performed a certain behavior in the past, does not mean that you are doomed to keep repeating those behaviors. I help you to figure out what the benefits were or are that you get from the thoughts and behaviors, and once you understand what that is, you can now develop new skills, and new tools to obtain those same benefits in a more appropriate way.
3) When we see a problem or an issue that we want to clear up, the first thing that you have to do is See the solution, and then you can start the process of Setting the solution. Nothing can be successfully changed by force or will upon the outside world of effect. The first you have to do is to See the solution in your mind. Believe me all else will fall into place once you begin to use you’re the tremendous power of your mind to See the solution.
4) Finally, and this is the really tough part, The only thing you are ever really in control of is yourself, your attitude. You cannot honestly control , or change the behavior and activities of those around you. If someone else is going to change, it is because they want to change, not because you made them change.

Ask any of my clients, this is why Foundations Hypnosis is so successful as a way of changing your life and reaching your goals. Do you have something you want to change or create in this New Year, this new decade? Then please fill out one of the assessment forms on this website, or give me a call. I assure you, you will be glad that you did.

Personal Energy Mastery Utilizing the Power of Hypnosis to

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

Popularized by the movie the Secret, people are finding out that they are not the victims that they once believed themselves to be. Many people are stepping up and recognizing that their lives are the results of their thoughts and their feelings. The thoughts in our brains are primarily composed of images, and these images make up our story.
We have thousands and thousands of thoughts, i.e. images, each day, most of them are simply retreads of the images that we had the day before or the hour before. It is like we are stuck watching endless reruns on TV Land, or Nick at Night, nothing really new, just the same shows over and over again.
How many of you get up in the morning, awake, aware, and grateful to be able to live, experience, and express a new day? Or do you, “as Paul McCartney says”, wake up, get out of bed, drag a comb across your head, make your way down stairs and drink a cup, notice you are late and make it to the bus in seconds in flat.
You face the day, every day with the same expectations, the same images and stories in your head.
It is time to change your Story. Truth to tell there are many ways of doing this, some are easy, some are hard, some are effective and long lasting, some are short lived and very ineffective.
Learning the language of the brain is one of the most effective, safe, and long lasting ways to create and manifest changes in your life, and using Hypnosis Seattle ~ Bellevue’s own Personal Energy Mastery system is one of the most powerful ways of creating long lasting changes in your Story.
The first part of the process is recognizing that we are pure energy, pure potential. At the deepest level of existence we are a mass of Atoms, formed together in different variations and configurations. Just like the ingredients that make up a cake or a loaf of bread are very similar, i.e. water, flour, salt, sugar, etc., so too are the ingredients that make up each physical structure, or compound. Air is made of atoms of oxygen, and hydrogen, you are made up of various Atoms mixed together in recipes that express as different physical manifestations. No matter what the physical manifestation they can all be broken down to an atomic base, and that atomic base is pure energy. Our brains are designed to process bits of electro chemical energy / information. Over the years we use that energy, in the form of images or stories to guide our lives, our actions. This is our Personal Energy, and Foundations Hypnosis teaches you how to Master your Personal Energy.
The second part of the process is learning how to step back and recognize that these bits of electro chemical pieces of energy are not the real you. We are not our thoughts, we are not our bodies, we are something much more. We are the consciousness beyond the dance of atoms, we are observer, the one who experiences and expresses life through our physical body.
Somewhere along the line we forgot that, we began to believe that we are the body, we are the thoughts, we began to let the energy of the thoughts, the stories, control us, and guide us around.
Now is the time to take control, now is the time to change your story. How do you do that? So glad you asked.
When something is generating energy is measured in watts. Since you produce waves of energy that spread out and influence, literally manifest things in your life, let’s take a look at how to take control of the Wattage of your Personal Energy, and become a Personal Energy Master.

Turn up the W.A.T.tage
To create any changes in your life you must start with three basic ingredients.

1) W = WANTS!!!! This is one of the misunderstood portions of the steps to creating changes in your life. We must focus on our Wants, but what that translates into for most people is our Don’t Wants. The brain does not know the difference between a real or imagined event, and it does not recognize the word don’t. If I were to say to you right now, don’t think about the statue of Liberty in the New York Harbor, I can guarantee that you are now thinking about the Statue of Liberty in the New York Harbor. As an example of how this rule effects your wants, let’s say you are focusing on the fact that you Want more money, well when you are focusing on wanting more money, you are actually feeling, remember those pesky electro-chemical bits of energy called emotions, (a.k.a. feelings), that you don’t have enough money, Or say that you are focusing on the fact that you want a new job, well when you have that kind of focus, what you are really saying is that you don’t have a job, or you don’t like the job you have, etc. Whenever you state that you want ________, then what you are really doing is admitting that you don’t have the thing that you want.
What you must do is decide what the experience is that you want, it is not really money that you want, money is only paper, what you really want is the experiences that having money can give you, such as having money can give you the freedom to not have to worry about being able to pay your bills, or the freedom to travel, the sense of independence to do as you please without struggling day after day with worry and stress about all the things that a lack of money entails.
The same applies to any WANT, if you decide you want less stress, more confidence in you life, then you must decide what the experience of having less stress, and more confidence will give to you. It is never the actual physical thing that you want; it is the experience that comes along with having that WANT!!!

2) A = ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, you must truly acknowledge that you can have what it is that you want, you must feel deep in your gut that you can have what it is that if you WANT. If you WANT to live a life of confidence and less stress, then you must believe on a deep level, on a feeling level, that you can experience a life of confidence and ease. You if WANT a new job as the CEO of a multi-million dollar corporation you must acknowledge that it is possible to be the CEO, you must believe that it can happen. This is a very important step in the process, if you do not believe, if you cannot actual feel in your gut that you can be a CEO of a big corporation then it would be almost impossible for you to become one, and if you did then you would not keep the position long. This is why it is so important to learn and practice daily self hypnotic exercises, you must practice to get into that space of relaxation, that place where you can visualize so strongly and allow yourself to actually feel whatever the WANT is that you are visualizing.

3) T = TRUST, this is the key ingredient, TRUST. You must trust, you must have complete faith in the fact that it will be manifested in your life. Whatever it is that you desire, a life of confidence and greater self worth / esteem, more money,, a better job, whatever it is that you WANT, can only become a reality if you TRUST that it will happen. You can identify what it is that you WANT, (step #1), and you can feel what the experience of having that want is going to be like, (step #2), but unless you can put your trust and faith in the fact that it will come true then all your desires will remain dreams and wishes. All you have to do is follow steps #1, and #2, and then let it go, because whatever you put out must manifest in your life.

Look at your life right now, no matter what the condition in your life is, you have been programmed to believe that this is what you deserve, this is what people like you get, you have been programmed to believe that you must struggle, that life is hard, that we cannot have everything that we want, that the other guy always gets the good stuff, that dieting is hard, that we must live from paycheck to paycheck, that quitting cigarettes is next to impossible, the lists goes on, and on, and on. You can want something very badly, (step#1), you can truly acknowledge that it is possible for it to happen, (step #2), but if you do not Trust that it will happen, it most probably won’t.

The one sure way to build up Trust is to keep a journal of your daily self hypnotic exercises. Every single day write down the successes of visualizations, the positive changes that are occurring in your life due to the daily exercises. No matter how small or trivial it might seem, Example, “I did my daily exercise, and I felt much more relaxed, I was able to interact with my boss, and it felt good.” In this manner you will build up your TRUST level as the changes in your life start multiplying, once you begin this process then the results that you desire will keep getting bigger and better.

Hypnosis is so powerful, so incredible in its ability to help you Change you’re Story, and thus help you to Master your Personal Energy, that you will begin to notice that doors you once thought closed to you, will be flung wide open, and the changes to your story will begin to multiply.

What Stories are You Made Up Of?
DLScott CH.t / CDP / AASD

Science and physics tells us that we are made up of atoms, in actuality we are made up of stories. Many years ago Albert Einstein had said that we cannot solve the problem at the level of the problem, and yet I find that many of us immediately jump to that level of a solution as soon as we become aware of problems that arise in our lives.
I can’t tell you how many of my clients come in with the expectation that they are going to use hypnosis to uncover the deep and hidden sources of their stories. One of the greatest stories of our culture is that we are victims; that we are at the mercy of people and events outside of ourselves. Somehow if we can uncover just who did all of this to us, who started all of this, if we can just uncover the enemy, then we can escape and make a new life for ourselves.
This belief comes from the idea that our stories are true, that we are the victims of our stories, that if we can find out the source of our stories, then we will be able to stop them at the source, and everything in our lives will be swell. Nothing can be further from the truth, no matter what the source of our story or stories, are, it doesn’t matter. What matters is that you uncover the story that you yourself have been living from, and then YOU change the story, YOU find a new one to put in its place. Until you change the story that you are living from, the stories that make up your belief system, you are going to continue to live the same type of circumstances over and over again.
You must come to grips with the idea that You and You alone are responsible for keeping these stories in place, and You, and You alone can change old stories for NEW.
Do any of these stories resonate with you?
• I am not good enough
• I am not smart enough
• I don’t have a degree so I can’t get the kind of job that I want
• Life is hard
• You have to struggle to get a head
• My family never had enough money, so I will never have enough money
• Everyone in my family is overweight, so I am doomed to be overweight

Sound familiar? No matter where these stories come from, parents, school, your church,
friends, television news, or shows, whatever the origin or source of the story, it does not matter. They are all still made up stories.
As you human beings we all interpret images and messages that we receive, we take everything personal and immediately make up stories that have us at the center of the story.
A good example is in the following story. While out with friends at a party, you meet someone new. There seems to be an attraction, and the two of you talk so easily, you seem to really hit it off. Your new friend asks for your phone number and says, “I will call you and we can make a date to get together again”. You go home elated, excited, telling yourself the story that this is love of your life, that you will start dating and soon become a couple. You will sail off into the sunset with your new life partner. You spend hours and then days waiting for a phone call, but the phone call never comes. Now your happiness your excitement comes to an end. You decide that the person really never liked you in the firs. You now make up the story that you were just someone that they could make use for the evening and then toss aside. Based on old tapes, old stories of not being good enough to have a relationship, not being smart enough or pretty enough, based on old stories about life always being a struggle, or being hard, you now make up a new story about why the person hasn’t called.
The truth of the matter is that the person was called out of town on business. They left your phone number at home, and just have not been able to get in touch with you yet.
I can relate another story from my own past that exemplifies how the stories we make up, can affect us, and keep us stuck for years. When I was a teenage boy, I was trying to come to grips with my own sexual identity. Growing up in a small town in the mid-west during the 60(s) and 70(s), I was keeping myself in the closet. I wanted to talk with someone, I had to take a chance and reach out to someone that I thought I could trust. I chose my best friend, a school mate whose family had recently moved to a small town about twenty miles from me. I wrote him a letter, pouring out my feelings, telling him that I just needed someone to talk with about my secret.
I sent off the letter, assured that my friend would write me back, and we could talk. Weeks went by and no response came. Finally I ran into a mutual friend who told me that my friend had received the letter and had decided that I was sick and perverted and that he never wanted to see me again.
That was all that it took, I went even further into the closet and swore never to tell anyone about myself again, I was never going to let anyone know what I was really feeling because now I had proof that life was hard, people were no good, and I was not good enough to have real friends. I ran into my “friend” a few years after that, and I had so many walls up, that there was no way that I would let him in. My story was set firmly in place. We talked about the weather, we talked about the news, and we talked about everything except the letter.
It was several years later, after I had left the mid - west and that I decided that I wanted to put closure on the incident. I got on the internet, determined to locate my boyhood friend through the internet. Weeks of trying to find him finally lead me to a mutual friend at the last school that he attended. What I discovered was a shock and an eye opener in terms of how our lives are run by our stories. I tracked down his sister, “who I had been told by the mutual friend, knew all about the letter”. She said that remembered one weekend when the mutual friend was staying over with her, she had grabbed a letter that had arrived from me, and opened it, but never told anyone what was in the letter. She revealed that the mutual friend a crush on her brother and was angry when the feelings were not returned, and she spent a lot of time causing problems in my friend’s life after that.
My friend had often told his sister that he never understood why I stopped talking with him, why I cut off our friendship. He had never received the letter from me, but the bitter girl friend had somehow gotten a hold of the letter while she was over at the house, took it and read it herself.
When I next talked with my friend it was my own story of not being good enough, of not being worthy, that would not allow me to address the issue with him.
The saddest part to this tale is that my friend was now dead, and I would never have the opportunity to talk with him. My story, all made up and designed to protect me, kept me stuck and unable to move ahead.
So I ask you again, what stories are you made up of, and what NEW stories are you willing to believe that will allow you a brand new life, a new brand new set of life circumstances.
Are you willing to believe the following?
• I am good enough
• I am smart enough
• My life is not limited by the lack of a Master’s degree, lots of people get their dream jobs with their experience, and abilities
• Life is a joy, life is fun and exciting
• You can have the life of your dream while having fun doing it
• So what if my family never had money, I have the ability to make good money, easily, and effortlessly
• There are lots of people who have a different body weight and shape then their other family members.
