Albert Einstein once said that imagination is much more important and powerful than intelligence.
To prove this I want you to take a moment to do a quick experiment, I want you to hold out your hand and imagine that you are holding a lemon. It is yellow, waxy, round, has green tips at the end. Now imagine that the lemon is cut in half, you see the pulpy, dark juicy insides of the sections of the lemon, and now you are actually biting into the lemon.
What is happening in your mouth? If you are like most people you are salivating and possibly puckering up. Hmm-m-m now why is that, there is no real lemon in your hand.
The answer is that the brain does not know the difference between a real or imagined event, and whether your images are based on something real or imagined these thoughts make up the trance states, i.e. the stories, that guide your life. You will believe and react to what ever story you are playing out in your brain. (Think of the last time that you sat and watched a movie, you laughed, you cried, you were scarred, and yet none of it was real).

When you have a strong opinion about something, it is because you have adopted a story, such as this is how men are suppose to act, or this is how women are suppose to act and we get emotionally upset when things do not match up to our stories. When we have an image or a thought of some event or experience in our life, real, or imagined, we respond with emotions. In some cases the image creates a positive emotion, in some it creates a negative emotion, such as fear, anger, or anxiety.
